About our Logo

The emblem for Family Bound is the traditional Dara (“doire”) knot, which is the Celtic symbol of strength. It’s designed in such a way as to represent the oak tree, with its strong, rooted trunk and interwoven branches. In Celtic tradition, the oak tree symbolizes inner strength, power, wisdom and endurance. The lines of the Dara knot have no end; they are eternal. Celtic knots were used for decorations, as spiritual charms, and as teaching aids.

About our Team

The Region 3 Resource Team is operated by Family Bound and funded by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The Region 3 Resource Team consists of community members from around the region! Our team members work in the following roles:

  • GROW Trainers provide prelicensure training and ongoing training to those who are interested in becoming foster families and those who are already licensed foster families.
  • Recruitment & Retention Coordinators work to recruit new foster families in the regions they serve, and support our existing foster families through fun family friendly activities. If you’re interested in hosting a R&R Coordinator at your event, please reach out via the contact form below.
  • Foster Care Navigators work one on one with foster parents, or those who are consider becoming foster parents, as they learn to navigate the child welfare system and caring for foster children. If you’d like to connect with a member of your community for support on your foster care journey, please call 855-MICHKIDS and ask to be connected with a Foster Care Navigator in your county, or fill out the form below!
